Tansu

The clients wanted something in the hallway just off the foyer for short-term storage and to disguise the large heat register while not obstructing it. The other challenge was that it had to be beautiful and complimentary to the foyer, but not fight the stairs. The always classic and versatile Tansu seemed to me a natural choice. The horizontal bars on the right are a graphic element which allow the air from the heat register to flow through.

The silk crinkle fan sconces have and organic quality to compliment the geometric lines of the stairs and Tansu. They are hand-made in Israel by the same company that made the sculptural chandelier in the dining room.
